Description
Edinburgh Drone Company will take you from novice to confident in our Intermediate Drone Training Course:
Drone Basics
– Getting your Flyer ID, Operator ID (on drone) and insurance if flying commercially (costs not included in package, currently £10 annually)
– Max Height of 400ft(120m), Max distance of 500m, always in Visual line of sight
– Take off permission
– No flying over uninvolved people (crowd if sub 250g)
– Make sure to check weather (wind specifically – UAV Forecast
Checks Before Flying
- Drone Assist and NOTAM (notice to airmen)
- Wind Speed
- Check Health of Drone (props, gimbal, legs etc)
- GPS signal before flying
- Return to home height
- Take off and landing working
- Check all drone movements before flying away from close vicinity
Software – apps
- Drone Assist
- UAV Forecast
- Necessary brand app for flying drone
Progression
We will have a discussion prior to training to plan the time so you get the most from any training session. Each session is tailored to the needs of any pilot or organisation. It will be you and the instructor or instructors and the pace will be at your level.
4 Hour course – 1 to 1 lesson with Jack or Ross from EDC. Local lesson at our office (EH33 1ET)/ local beach (Longniddry). We can happily travel to you but expenses will be added.
We also have locations available in Glasgow, Aberdeen, Perth and near Leuchars.
